OSSBuy charges, display rates and the two-payment rhythm

Two payments, a handful of fixed charges and one percentage. Every number below names its OSSBuy source page and our reading date.

Payment one: goods, postage to Guangdong, and the 10% line

You start by paying for the goods themselves and for the seller's courier leg into the Guangdong warehouse, both priced in yuan and shown in your display currency. If the seller has changed the price, or the courier fee differs from what you typed in a Fill and Buy order, OSSBuy's buyer sets a supplementary payment for the difference before ordering.

On top of that, the Terms of Use (section 8.3) state that a 10% technical service fee applies when you recharge, pay for an order or pay international freight. As a worked example only: if that fee is applied to a CNY 133 cardigan, it adds CNY 13.30. Check how your checkout screen shows it before you confirm, because that screen is the final word.

The exchange rate OSSBuy shows you

Prices are set in yuan and converted with OSSBuy's own table, which the site loads on every page. The table below is what it held on 24 October 2026. To see the conversion margin, divide by the rate your bank shows for the same day; the gap between the two is a cost, even though no line on the bill calls it one.

Payment two: freight, packing and insurance

You pay freight when you submit the parcel. Every line quote we pulled on 24 October 2026 had three parts: a first-weight price for 500 g, a step price for each further 200 g, and a fixed handling charge (CNY 8 on the US, UK, Canada and Mexico lines; CNY 24 on the self-operated European lines). A half-price offer was halving the weight charges until 31 December 2026, according to the home page pop-up.

Insurance is optional and priced per parcel at submission. Packing extras such as reinforcement sit on the same screen as value-added services. The amount you pay is an estimate until the warehouse weighs the packed box; differences are settled against your balance.

Small charges that add up

None of these is large on its own. Together they explain why two parcels with the same goods can end up a few dollars apart.

Payment methods and their own fees

The payment screen in OSSBuy's June 2026 guide listed account balance, PayPal, TradPay, card payment (Visa, Mastercard, Maestro, Diners Club, Discover and American Express logos), Google Pay and Skrill. The Terms of Use say the payment providers' own handling fees are your responsibility and OSSBuy is not liable for them, so a card that charges a foreign transaction fee will add it on top.

Bank transfer is also offered. Its page states that offshore yuan transfers cannot be accepted, that funds usually arrive in two to three business days, and that every bank charge on the way (sending, intermediary and receiving) is paid by you.
